Supermarket Consum in Benicàssim (Spain), recently designed by creative consultancy Culdesac could be a glimpse of the store of the future.
Simple, stripped-back interiors, furniture & arrangements, no clutter, no loud aerial signage, no publicity. No shopping noice to make the shop’s arrangement understandable and keep the choice process pure. Stores should be designed in order to make shopping easier and help people to travel in store in a comfortable way. One of the most eye catching design twists is the removal of all visual noise. Within the store the different sections have been arranged according to an organisation chart within a strict geometric arrangement. Each part has been assigned a graphic design according to the scale in space, in line with each other. Natural tones are with Consum’s orange branding that, from a distance, helps to define large areas and the cashier area. An orange line connects the whole space, so this colour is never lost.
The Benicàssim store concept is the first of a series of shops, where the Benicàssim store will serve as a test project and a prototype for all future Consum stores ( think 680 supermarkets in Spain).
