It is always energizing to check on regular bases what is boiling on the different crowdsourcing platforms. And when the project is a Belgian initiative by 2 entrepreneurial woman, it gets my full attention.
On crowdsourcing platform Ulele the MŌRO Essentials project was launched September 6. The goal of 200 pre-orders was largely surpassed October 7 th by 359 buyers of 766 starter packs.
What is this MŌRO Essentials line? A sustainable beauty and personal care label that confronts us with the idiot ‘shipping more water than essential beauty ingredients’-principle of the beauty industry. Founders Yasmine Mili and Katrien De Clerck, both concerned about the planet and wanting to make a positive impact, found out that traditional personal care products contained 80% water nearly always wrapped in larger single use packaging. This insight became the core of their beauty brand MŌRO Essentials. Instead of sending out full bottles of liquid soap, they opted to sell small powder sachets filled with the working stuff and a beautiful glass bottle to keep. The idea is to let the clients fill up the bottle with tapwater, mix it with the magic powder, shake it and the soap dispenser is ready to use. So simple and smart.
Their motto?
We ship powder, you add tap water.
Buy the bottle once. Refill forever.
97% natural ingredients | 100% natural perfume
Hopa!
The crowdsourcing project is closed and as the branded MŌRO Essentials website was not online yet while posting this article, you have to have a little patience until placing your starterskit order. The girls keep you in the loop on their Instagram account.
Good luck ladies!
