Preview of the The Milan Salone Di Mobile design fair lay-out post Covid.
No booths but 18 m long walls to display your brands novelties on. 1 person to do the storytelling and no closed client-only spaces.
The fair is renamed Supersalone, curated by Stefano Boeri. Supersalone is presented as a thematical and scenographic display, with special attention to sustainability and recycling of the structure, where companies are able to show their best work from the past 18 months: a unique and special moment to discover today’s design panorama. This ‘library of design’ features a specially designed flexible and modular wall system to offer different display opportunities to brands.
That’s how you innovate: rethink drastically the status-quo and start over. The newly-nominated president, Maria Porro’s vision is that the Salone needed to meet future challenges regarding sustainability, digitalisation, research, innovation, creativity and inclusiveness, as ever maintaining the highest quality. Supersalone 2021 also includes a newly conceived presentation titled ‘The Makers Show’ that focusses on craftsmanship and innovation through a showcase by independent workshops, studios, laboratories and start-ups that ‘bring together design and experimentation, new production techniques and materials research’.
After the interruption of the last 18 months, it’s good to see the world is starting up again, but not as before. With a fresh view on the future. A good start and we will see if it works.
Fair starts September 5th. 2021.
